Adafruit Industries is a New York City based company that makes original DIY electronics kits.

All the Adafruit Industries kits are designed specifically to make it easy for beginners to make: nicely silkscreened circuit boards, through-hole parts whenever possible, extra large solder pads, etc.

They are pioneers in the open-source hobby electronics landscape, make some great kits and have plenty of information to share with links in the product description pages.
