Description: This is the breakout board for a 5mm RGB LED. An RGB LED can, in it's basic form, can light up in either red, blue or green, but you can also mix the colors to create other colors!
With this breakout , you can plug it into to a breadboard.
- Breakout PCB
- 5mm RGB LED diffused white
- 3x 470 ohm Resistors (optional)
- 4 pin Male Header
- Mounting holes
The resistors are optional. If the lines going in to this led are being pulsed, or already have resistors in your project, all you need to do is solder in the LED, and connect. If you need to use the included resistors, you will need to score the connections underneath the resistors on the bottom side (see photo). Use a utility / hobby knife to cut the small trace between the pads on the bottom. Test with a multimeter to make sure the trace gets cut.
The LED included in this kit is a common cathode model, this means that you connect ground (0 volts) to the "C" pin and +5 volts to the R,G or B pins to light the LED.
Kit requires: Soldering iron, solder and (optional) hobby knife.
