The SMC POV is simply a surface mount version of my first POV The Subliminizer After reading that it was possible to use hand tools to do surface mount work, I decided to jump in and give it a try. I choose to redo the POV so that it would be easier to tell if I was soldering correctly rather then making a design error.

If you have Filemaker Pro I’ve made a small utility, that takes vertical “slices” of your text and encodes it into Decimal, Hexadecimal values. In the example at the right; to display the letter “h” you would pump out FF, 08, 08, 08, F0 hex from your microcontroller’s memory onto the 8 LEDS.

PCB file, ASM Code and FMP Dots to HEX files are available on the Downloads  page.
