Montreal Mini Maker Faire<\/a> is fast approaching.  (Aug 25th & 26th 2012)<\/p>\n

Every Maker Faire<\/a> we have been to has had a ‘Learn to Solder For A Dollar’ tent.  This, Montreal’s first Mini Maker Faire, we teaching people how to solder for a dollar.<\/p>\n

Here is a sneak preview of the ‘learn to solder’ kit we have put together. It is a badge that you can clip to your clothing or backpack.<\/p>\n

Two 10mm red LEDs flash in an alternating pattern, using a simple resistor – capacitor circuit with 2 transistors.<\/p>\n

The PCB attaches to a piece of laser cut & etched acrylic.  The red light from the LEDs shines up and makes the acrylic glow. Making the badge pretty cool to look at, and a lot of fun to build.<\/p>\n

If you are interested in learning a new skill, for not much money, come see us.  If you already know how to solder, well you are welcome to come and check it out too.  The most fun that can be had for $1.<\/p>\n
