The Factory : McGill EE Students Get Their Solder On!

By | November 18, 2010

November 16th 2010, Mc Connell Building McGill University, Montreal Quebec Canada.

Sparky, (Severin Smith) Put together a bi-monthly group where electrical engineering students can learn to solder, and get in touch with the practical side of what they’re learning. As official sponsor & supplier of the event, we provided the kits, and are really proud to have been able to help out… Sparky for those that didn’t know is the creator of the MIDI BUS processing library. http://smallbutdigital.com/themidibus.php We use it in our Serial to Midi converter software.
Check it out here: http://www.spikenzielabs.com/SpikenzieLabs/Serial_MIDI.html Used in Drum kits or any other project where you want to convert serial to Midi.

The meetings are in the basement level of the McConnell Building, and you can check out their site here: thefactory.mcgilleus.ca.

Here are a few photos of the event. I think they may have set a new Guinness record for the number of power-bars plugged into power-bars.. No breakers popped, and everyone had a great time.
