Meet the PumLantern - a solar-charged, night-time activated light-pulsing lantern (now with even brighter LEDs)!
This kit charges all day from the SCC3733 solar cell, and pumms the four ultra-mega-super-bright LEDs to cast artistic silhouettes against the walls of the lantern. The LEDs themselves are a random grab of white, blue, red, orange and green.
This is a build-it-yourself kit. Basic electronics assembly is needed for the Pummer circuit, and the shell slides/snaps together with little effort.
Would you like to try your hand at making your own Lantern? Solarbotics has published the PumLantern outline file that we use to laser-cut our own lanterns (you might try using a sharp knife) as a Creative-Commons 2.5 Attribution-Share Alike license. Do what you please with it, just don't forget to relay along where it came from! See the resources tab for several file formats to pick from.
This model comes with the Hazard cut outs and black cardboard.
